From College to Career: The Things No One Tells You
On college, first jobs, taking the long way around, and why there's no such thing as falling behind.
I want to start sharing more career advice on my page. I’m not going to sit on here and tell you exactly what to do and what moves to make, because I’m not someone who’s at the level of success I dream of being at yet. These posts will come to you from the bit of experience I do have, but it’s more of a “we’re in it together, here’s what I’m doing” kind of thing.
One thing I’ve always completed, multiple times, is school. I graduated from college in May of 2020 (hi, pandemic), and have so many thoughts on my time there and what I think I did right vs what I did wrong. As a first-generation college graduate, I want to give advice to those who are in the same position, so that you can have a clear idea of what to expect.
I’ll dive into my four years of attending as a commuter student, talk about my major, my experience, my outlook (because that matters), and more. Head to the office; there’s lots to discuss.
